Years ago, I was attending a weekly Meetup group to help me find my purpose. Back then, I had no idea what I was passionate about and I even recall a moment of subtle envy when someone in the group shared about their passion for horses. At the time, I didn’t realize it, but it was a pivotal moment and gift of awareness I didn’t know I needed. I was aware I didn’t have a passion but listening to their talking about their love for horses and how they were utilizing their skills to be around them, made it even more glaringly apparent what I didn’t have. I left feeling a bit dejected that evening and didn’t know how I was ever going to find what was I was passionate about. I didn’t know where to begin or where to look. I was frustrated. This is the premise of my sharing with you now…….
What if discovering your passions doesn't begin with knowing what you want to do, but with allowing yourself to imagine what is possible? Somewhere within you is a world of possibilities you may not have explored yet. Interests you haven't encountered, creativity you haven't expressed, and experiences you haven't given yourself permission to discover. Or, what if you are already tapped into your passions and you haven’t connected the dots that you are already living it.
You don't need to have your purpose figured out. You don’t have to even know what it is. Sometimes, all you need is a little curiosity and the willingness to let your imagination wander.
Recollect your own childhood or any child you have been around. Children have the innate ability to turn an ordinary moment into an extraordinary adventure or make anything fun. They imagine without needing to know how everything will work. They play with their toys, yet sometimes you may find them having more enjoyment banging pans together because their curiosity led them to the kitchen cabinets. They explore because they may be bored and are looking for what interests them, and they experience the joy of discovery without worrying about where it will lead.
Give yourself permission to play, and approach life like your little self used to today.
Let Your Imagination Open the Door
Imagine what you might enjoy if you weren't limited by what you already know about yourself. What if you allowed yourself to be brand new in every way and you don’t need permission to do so.
Perhaps you would paint a picture, learn an instrument, dance like no one is watching, explore nature, write stories, build something with your hands, travel somewhere unfamiliar, or discover a subject that fascinates you. Maybe your interests will be quieter: growing a garden, helping others, learning to cook something new, or finding creative ways to bring more happiness into your everyday life.
You don't need to decide whether an idea is practical, impressive, or worthy of becoming a lifelong pursuit. Allow yourself to wonder. Your imagination helps you see possibilities beyond your familiar routines. It introduces you to experiences you might never have considered if you only focused on what you already know.
And when you give yourself permission to explore, you create opportunities to discover what genuinely interests you. Sometimes, too, you may be surprised to find that it’s something you’re already doing.
Let Love Help You Recognize What Brings You Joy
Your connection with Source Light invites you to explore life through love and happiness rather than fear, limitation, or worry.
Love allows you to approach yourself with patience and kindness. It gives you permission to be a beginner, make mistakes, change your mind, and discover what feels authentic to you. As you explore new interests, pay attention to how you feel.
There is a particular kind of joy that can arise when you encounter something that genuinely resonates with you. You become naturally interested. Your curiosity deepens. You want to keep exploring, learning, creating, or experiencing more.
Perhaps you begin an activity and suddenly realize that an hour has passed without you noticing. Maybe you feel so engaged that you forget to check your phone or think about what you should be doing next. You aren't forcing yourself to continue. You want to. This effortless engagement can be a beautiful clue that you've found something meaningful to you.
Not every passion will feel effortless all the time, and learning something new can require patience and consistency. But, there is a difference between something that challenges you while inspiring you and something you continually force yourself to do because you believe you should. Let your feelings help you discern that difference.
Ask yourself: Does this bring me joy? Am I curious to discover more? Do I feel more peaceful or relieved when I am learning or experiencing it? You don't need to have immediate answers. Simply notice what happens within you.
Your Passions Are Yours to Discover
Living in alignment with the Light within you doesn't require you to find one extraordinary purpose that defines your entire existence. Your passions may be expressed through creativity, learning, caring for others, solving problems, exploring nature, sports, or bringing people together. They may become meaningful work, or they may remain beautiful parts of your personal life. What matters is that you allow yourself the freedom to discover them.
You are not here only to fulfill responsibilities, meet expectations, and accomplish what others consider important. You are also here to experience life, express your unique gifts, and discover the things that bring meaning and joy to your own journey.
You can begin with something as simple as thinking of something fun to do, trying something unfamiliar, or recalling any dreams and wishes of the past that you may have disregarded for whatever reason. Ponder on the idea of the possibility of your wishes being granted without judging those thoughts. You don't need to know where it will lead. This is not a time waster.
When you approach life with curiosity and openness, your imagination expands what you believe is possible. When you meet yourself with love, you create space to recognize what genuinely resonates with you. And when you follow that joy with thoughtful, intentional choices, you begin shaping a life that feels more authentic, joyful, and free.
Create a Daily Moment of wonder
Perhaps you haven't discovered your passions yet because you haven't experienced the things that will awaken them. There is no need to judge yourself for that. You cannot be expected to know what you love before you have had the opportunity to explore it.
Let yourself be curious about the world and about who you are, and who you might become. Imagine without immediately placing limits on your possibilities. Try something new without demanding that you excel. Notice the experiences that draw you in and leave you wanting to know more. Your journey of discovery doesn't have to be complicated.
Wonder doesn't require a plane ticket or a completely free afternoon. It can be found in the ordinary moments we often overlook.
Watch the clouds change shape. Notice the colors of a sunset. Listen to a song that makes you want to move. Visit a garden. Take a different route on your walk. Look at the stars. Make something with your hands without worrying about how it turns out.
Try seeing something familiar as though you were discovering it for the first time.
When you make space for wonder, you give your mind permission to move beyond its usual routines. Sometimes, a new passion begins with a simple question. Sometimes, it begins with an unfamiliar experience. And sometimes, it begins when you allow yourself to follow a little spark of excitement simply because it feels good to explore. Try spending at least five minutes doing something purely for the pleasure of experiencing it. No multi-tasking. No expectations.
You don't have to know your passions to begin finding them. I certainly didn’t. I did, though, continue becoming more curious and less judgmental about my life and what I was passionate about. I was as peaceful as I could be about it. And then one day, something happened. I received an epiphany and realized I was already living my passion. I was purposefully pursing and deepening my connection to God, Source Light through cultivating a relationship with Christ Yeshua, everyday. Divinity, the Universe, and all that is LOVE is my passion. I didn’t know it could be a passion until I directly received the revelation from my own intuition.
Perhaps the most beautiful part of rediscovering your passions is that you aren't trying to become someone else. You're making room for more of yourself. The curious part. The creative part. The playful part. The part that still wonders what might be possible. So, what is one thing you've been wanting to try? Don't worry about how far it might take you. Don't demand that it become a purpose or a plan.
Just take the first small step. You never know what beautiful possibilities might begin with a little curiosity and the courage to follow it. You are allowed to feel alive in your life, not just responsible for it.
So let your imagination soar open to the fullest extent to all of the possibilities of all that you can be, and probably already are. Let love help you recognize what inspires and motivates you, and allow your curiosity to align you with more joy. And before you know it, you are feeling freer and living in your passion just by being you.
